Mark Clemens
Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer

As CEO, Mark leads a talented team towards GHM's grand vision: to re-invent how brands are created in the post-retail age. Under his leadership GHM has built a consumer relationship platform that engages, educates, and empowers, creating happy, life-long customers that are also raving fans. Prior to Golden Hippo, Mark co-founded Breakthrough Media, an online marketing company, with his brothers Curt and Craig. In his free time Mark enjoys mountain biking, reading, and horticulture on his ranch home, which is right down the road from GHM Headquarters, and is where Mark lives with his wife and their 2 children.

Curt Clemens
Co-founder & Chief Strategy Officer

Curt is a former Marine who returned from a tour in Iraq to discover online marketing in 2006. Within 2 years, Curt had built a multi-million dollar internet advertising company from his bedroom, and in 2010 co-founded Golden Hippo Media to fulfill an even greater vision. As CSO, Curt has built out and now leads the Media Team, which consists of over 40 of the finest web content producers, media buyers, developers, and graphic artists in the U.S. Constantly re-inventing acquisition strategy, Curt and his team have developed innovative methods that have allowed GHM's brands to experience unprecedented growth. In his free time, Curt is an avid outdoorsman and endurance athlete, and can be found training in the hills of Agoura, where he resides next door to his twin brother Mark.

Craig Clemens
Co-founder & Chief Marketing Officer

Craig began marketing online in 2003, mentoring under renowned business guru Eben Pagan. It was there he learned the art of writing captivating brand stories, that he has now passed on to the Creative Team at Golden Hippo. Under his leadership, GHM creates the most engaging customer acquisition content on the web, regularly producing videos that are watched by tens of millions, turning experts into household names and brands into category leaders. A former martial artist, Craig holds a black belt in Tang Soo Do, and spends his spare time mentoring young writers and entrepreneurs. Craig also leads GHM's Charity Initiatives, having forged fruitful partnerships with Smile Train, Pencils Of Promise, and Charity: Water.

Josh Golder
Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer

Josh is a lifelong entrepreneur, who in his late teens overcame debilitating Crohn's Disease to become first a personal trainer, then a fitness studio owner. His experience in beating Crohn's led him to produce and direct the documentary film, “True Guts”, which in 2007 won the Freddy Award for “Finest Educational Entry Of The Year”. As Co-founder and COO, Josh has taken on Hippo's biggest new business initiatives, and is a driving force behind Hippo's rise to the premier brand-building platform it is today. Prior to Hippo Josh founded Waterstone Retail Development, New England's 2nd largest retail developer with 65 acquired or developed shopping centers. Josh remains a fitness fanatic, heading up GHM's employee health programs and regularly attending fitness events and seminars across the country.

Seth Halio
Chief Financial Officer

Seth Halio is Golden Hippo’s first CFO, joining the company in August 2016. Prior to joining Golden Hippo, Seth was CFO of a variety of public and private technology and consumer goods companies, including Adept Technology, LED Engin, and Diamond Foods. Seth’s varied experiences include IPOs, successful exits, financings, system implementations and team building. Seth lives in the San Fernando Valley with his wife.

Peter Klein
Chief Customer Officer

Peter Klein joined Golden Hippo Media as the Chief Customer Officer in March of 2015. In that time, he has overseen the rapid growth in the customer contact centers (from ~50 phone agents to over 200), implemented QA measures to increase customer engagement and satisfaction, allow Hippo to have the highest quality customer service in the industry with an average hold time of just 2 seconds. Prior to GHM, Peter spent 3 years at DR industry giant Guthy-Renker. Peter lives with wife and boy/girl twins in the San Fernando Valley.

Marieta Hent
VP, Prod. Dev. & Brand Mgmt.

Marieta serves as the VP of Product Development and Brand Management for Golden Hippo Media, where she oversees many of it's the most impactful opportunities. She has extensive expertise in creating and growing large Direct Response product lines, including spending 15 years of her career at industry leader Guthy-Renker. Ms. Hent acted as the brand manager for Proactiv, a $1B brand and America’s #1 acne product, where she was instrumental in shaping customer experience initiatives, including in-shipment materials, win-back and loyalty programs. Marietta lives in Simi Valley with her husband and 2 children.

Juan Carlos Ramos Paulino
Director of Human Resources

Juan Carlos Ramos Paulino is currently the Director of Human Resources at Golden Hippo Media, where his more than 8 years of experience as HR professional has contributed to the remarkable growth of the company, going from 90 employees in late 2014 to more than 450 in mid 2016. A founding member of the Forbes Human Resources Council, Juan Carlos holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR©) credential from the HR Certification Institute, and a Certified Professional certification from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP). Juan Carlos lives in the San Fernando Valley with his wife and 2 children.

Daniel Peck
Director of Recruitment

Daniel Peck is an industry veteran in the Recruitment industry and has over 15 years of hands-on experience in Recruitment and Staffing. Prior to joining Golden Hippo Media, Daniel was President and Managing Partner of Principal Search Partners, an executive search firm located in Agoura Hills, CA whose clients included: Google, Paypal, Mercedes Benz, Dish Network, Titan Solar and many more. Daniel lives in Agoura Hills, CA with his wife and 4 children, and is an avid runner and fitness buff.

Steve Tegel
Creative Director

Steve began working as a copywriter for Hippo in October, 2012, and was appointed Creative Director in June, 2015. Since then, he has increased monthly backend email revenue by 300%. The leadership he brings to the creative team has improved results across the board, breaking every internal record for product launches, conversion metrics, and customer retention rates. Steve has implemented systems for hiring and training new writers that have allowed GHM to double the size of the copywriting team in less than a year. Prior to Hippo, Steve worked for over 15 years as a professional musician, touring with bands and recording for major labels.
